Why Now
February 2027 Is Not a Suggestion.
Every EV battery sold in the European Union requires authenticated supply chain provenance, carbon footprint documentation, and recycled content records by February 18, 2027. Without this documentation, the battery cannot be sold in the EU market.
As of September 2026, no commercial supply chain authentication platform exists that meets the full EU Battery Regulation requirement for produced water and brine-source lithium. Self-reported certificates from refiners are not sufficient. The regulation requires authenticated documentation that is independently verifiable.

Refinery Output Certification
Purity grade and battery-grade classification at refinery output. Percentage Li2CO3, sodium content, competing ion residuals -- all authenticated.
Chain of Custody at Transfer
Each transfer point between source, processor, refinery, and buyer is authenticated in sequence. Non-duplicable. Any break in the chain is detectable.
Battery Manufacturer Intake Certification
Final battery-grade certification at manufacturer intake, verifiable by the manufacturer and by any authorized regulatory party.
